In this episode of Glass Half Full, Steve Twynham is joined by Elaine Godley.Elaine shares her inspirational story and how important it is to take responsibility for our own health and wellbeing.More about Elaine:I started my first business in the late 1970s which was very successful in kitchen design, retail, installation, and manufacturing, In 1986 things went wrong. I lost everything and then experienced a period of 12 years within corporate employment in the City of London. Starting as an administrator for a consultancy firm within an accountancy practice, I progressed through several roles and firms to become CEO of a law firm and COO of a business consultancy with over 220 members, as well as running many projects as an interim to empower teams to achieve higher results.I have often been referred to as a high achiever and I definitely blurred the lines between work and a balanced life in the past. In 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and again in 2011. In 2015 I was given 1 year to live with stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and I’ve since dealt with skin cancer on my face. I was also born with a rare kidney disease that I reversed when I was around 44 years old. Over the years I’ve studied and put many health strategies in place for myself, alongside running various enterprises and raising a family. I’ve never been ill as such - merely inconvenienced. I am blessed with a positive outlook and an extremely resilient personality.
Taking responsibility for our own health and well-being is very important to me to explain and demonstrate to others. This site includes various contributions on how to use our behavioural strengths to improve health and wellbeing as well as mentoring guidance from my own personal experiences. I do hope you gain some benefit for you and your tribe.Enjoy the podcast.
