'When I started a career in advertising 20 years ago, I never thought I'd find myself climbing the railings of a bridge to jump in front of a high speed train. But in 2018 that's what happened.'Eight months prior to his moment of crisis, David's father suffered a severe brain haemorrhage and died at the age of just 64. Still reeling from the shock of his father's passing, just 5 months later his wife experienced complications during the birth of their first child. Despite an hour without a pulse and seven days on life support, she thankfully made a full recovery. But the combined traumas, including the loss of his job, took its toll mentally on David. Depression, PTSD and suicidal thoughts led to him one day climbing the fence at a railway station intent on taking his own life.It is, however, a story of hope. He shares with us how a caring psychiatrist ultimately saved his life and how he discovered a path back to a happier place. He now runs his own consultancy business teaching employees how to cope with stress, build resilience and manage their mental health.
